Met-Track Participants Go To The Races
Met-Track participants from St. Catherine's Catholic School for Girls took part in their first athletics competition on Wednesday 18th January. They competed in the 60m at the Crystal Palace Open against athletes of clubs from all over London, the girls performances were impressive an especially considering they had never been in a racing environment like this before. Met-Track Scheme Manager Matt Threadgold was their to watch and support during the event "The way that the girls took to this is really impressive, they were all outside their comfort zones, before the first race you could see how nervous they were. After they got through the first race you could see the improvements when they were more familiar with their surroundings, in the second round this was evident and most of their performances improved. All of the girls said afterwards how much they enjoyed the event and look forward to the next competition on February 1st."
