Bexley Sessions Start With Lots Of Interest

Sessions at St Catherine's school have been very popular with the students since resuming this September. Scheme Manager Matt Threadgold has been in attendance for a number of sessions this year to lend his help in a coaching capacity, he said "It's great to see the girls have taken to athletics, they are really keen to learn about sport and tryout all the different track and field disciplines."

Former European U23 100m Silver Medalist Leevan Yearwood is the lead coach for the session, his enthuthiasm to pass on his expert advice and experience has been fundamental to the success of the sessions so far. St Catherine's PE Teacher Mel Harrison played a key part in Met-Track becoming active in the school, she had seen the benefits of the project when she had also helped set up the running of sessions at her former school Bishop Stopfords in Enfield.

Scheme Director John Powell was delighted to see Met-Track returning to Bexley, 10 years on from when the project started in the borough.
