Seb' Coe to Head Guest List at Met-Track Launch
An official launch event at City Hall, London, next month, will see Lord Sebastian Coe head an all-star guest list as Met-Track celebrates becoming an independent charity.
The event, scheduled for Tuesday December 11th, will also feature the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Cressida Dick CBE QPM along with a number ion sports coaches, athletes and young people.
Met-Track, adopted by the Charity Commission earlier this year, are funded by the BIG Lottery Fund, but that money reduces each year toward the close of the current deal in summer 2020, and so there will be an emphasis on the project's need for future support.
John Powell MBE, Founder and now Chief Executive Officer of the new charity said:
"We are incredibly lucky to have Lord Coe and the Commissioner on our guest list, but it does underline how Met-Track is valued at a very high level.
"We are immensely proud of our track record in helping develop vulnerable young Londoners over the years and provide them with opportunities they may not necessarily have otherwise had, and the consequent contribution toward making our city a that much safer place I'm which to live and work."
